A colourful parade lit up Gravesend last night as the town celebrated the start of the festive season with this year's Christmas lights switch on.
Starting at 4pm the procession made its way through the town with bands providing musical entertainment and crowds of school children in their best fancy dress.
With festive stilt walkers towering above him Gravesham mayor councillor Mick Wenban led the parade to Community Square before the much-awaited switch on.
