On a gloriously sunny Sunday afternoon PubSpy decided to grab a drink on the side of the Thames at The Cutty Sark.

Located on Ballast Quay it’s a fair walk through the Old Naval College, but the trek is well worth it for the views of Canary Wharf’s skyline and the 02 arena over on the north Greenwich peninsula.

With the good weather PubSpy decided to pull up a pew outside with a pint of cider in hand.

At £5.20 for a bottle of Magners The Cutty Sark is on the pricier side of the spectrum, but that’s probably a given when you visit Greenwich’s more touristy spots.

The decor is obviously maritime themed – as the name suggests – but at the same time cosy, with particularly good seats on the upper floors overlooking the river.

The view of the north Greenwich peninsula from The Cutty Sark.

PubSpy only popped in for a drink but couldn’t help gaze with envy at the Sunday roasts being delivered to surrounding tables.

Ranging from £14-18 depending on your choice of meat, they aren’t cheap, but by the smells wafting over I think it’s probably worth it.

The rest of the food menu is similarly priced, it’s no Wetherspoon but posh nosh for those who like the finer things in life.

With a wide selection of fellow drinkers The Cutty Sark seems to attract all sorts, from families to tourists, young hip things to thirsty dog walkers.

The staff were friendly and chipper, despite having to work on a Sunday, which adds to the Cutty Sark’s laid back atmosphere.

Most people just seemed to be enjoying the last of the good weather and making the most of the weekend before Monday morning rears its ugly head.
