Three people have been arrested after a 29-year-old man was found dead under a bridge in Plumstead.

The Metropolitan Police launched the murder investigation on Wednesday led by Detective Chief Inspector Will Reynolds after they found the body of a man with serious head injuries near the train station along Walmer Terrace.

A post mortem examination has confirmed the cause of death as blunt force trauma to head and neck.

Detectives believe they know the identity of the man but await formal identification.

It is thought the man who died may have been homeless and living under the bridge at the time of his death.

Three people aged 35, 45, and 46 have been arrested on suspicion of his murder.

They have been bailed until November.
