The Gravesend RNLI lifeboat was diverted from a training excercise yesterday evening (July 16) to hunt for a missing person who was thought to be near the promenade.
At around 8.50pm lifeboat crew joined the police search for a person who had been missing since midday the previous day in the Gravesend area.
A spokesperson for the RNLI said: "The lifeboat searched the immediate area, and put a crewman ashore to carry out a search of the area behind the promenade, but after around 15 minutes police reported that the person had been found safe and well ashore, so the lifeboat was released from service to continue on exercise."
