Friends have reacted with shock and sadness after the death of a man from Dartford, who was hit by a train at Farningham Road station.
Tributes have poured in for Tony Hay, an avid Dartford FC fan, after his family announced his passing ahead of Saturday’s football match.
A 57-year-old man from Dartford died on June 25, after being hit by a train at 3.30pm - he has been named locally as Anthony Hay.
One friend told News Shopper: "He lived for his football, always had a smile on his face and loved everybody.
"Everyone is still in shock, if only he knew how much he was loved."
Dozens of other tributes have been left on the Dartford FC website.
Jason King wrote: "Great sense of humour. I'll miss that. Pleasure to have known you Tony."
Another fan said: "Absolutely shocking news. Our little Tone rest in peace."
Hartley Dart added: "Everyone who knew 'Little Tone' was blessed to do so.
"He was such a kind, generous and well-liked person.
"We will all miss you more than will ever know Tony, but there will always be a spare seat for 'our Leader' on the 08.03."
The club had a minute's silence to remember Mr Hay before kick-off on Saturday, at a friendly against Canvey Island.
Mr Hay's family issued a statement on Friday (July 10) saying: "It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Tony Hay.
"We know that he was a staunch supporter of Dartford FC, attending all of their home and away matches."
