Southeastern have denied they are behind the suspension of a parody Twitter account which mocked the rail firm.

Thousands of people followed the @Se_Raleway account which regularly sent out funny tweets about the standard of service, complete with comical misspellings like the word "trane".

But the account was mysteriously suspended this week, arousing the suspicions of some Twitter users.

Account contributor Tony Hill tweeted afterwards: "Trane jokes delayed due to Parody Comprehension Error #bringbackseraleway #southeastern"

News Shopper:

And another told Southeastern: "I guess as long as you've dealt with @Se_Raleway then nothing much else matters today eh? #Traincrimes"

However, a spokesman for Southeastern told News Shopper they were not behind the suspension.

Mr Hill told News Shopper the company's reactions to the parody "blow hot and cold".

He added: "No one has asked us to delete anything or commented on offence caused so it's hard to say why this has happened.

"We will appeal and be back to updating our close to 6,000 followers on the status of their trane as soon as possible."

A new parody account has now been set up called @SeReplacemntBus.

They wrote this afternoon: "We regret to announce that @Se_Raleway services are suspended. We will be running the @SeReplacemntBus until further notice."
