Neighbours have described their shock after a triple stabbing in Bromley which also saw fighting youths using goods stolen from a nearby petrol station as improvised weapons.

Three young men were stabbed and one assaulted in the early hours of Saturday morning (June 27), in events which the police believe are linked.

The incidents follow reports of a party near the stables on Bromley Common, which led to fighting.

A 17-year-old boy was found assaulted in Hastings Road at 1.30am, and at 2am they found a 20-year-old man suffering from stab wounds in Princes Plain.

London’s Air Ambulance was sent to the scene and the men were treated for a back and head injury.

Another two men aged 20 and 17 attended at south London hospital with stab wounds. All are in a stable condition.

Manager of the BP Garage on Hastings Road, Ravi Deep, said: "The police closed Brewery Road about 3am, it reopened about 6am but the police didn’t let us open until about 7.30am.

"They took the fire extinguisher and shovel. They let off the fire extinguisher all over the road. We’ve had to clean up the pathway.

MORE TOP STORIES "The night staff saw some of them by the night pay window. The next thing, there’s a fight. There were three different fights going on, there was one by the bus stop and one around the corner.

"One of them was stabbed round the corner. We heard he had a punctured lung.

"The party was in the field opposite. People were walking through the hedges and the fences."

Earlier in the evening staff reported hearing the music from the party and seeing numerous youths walking up and down the road.

Mr Deep added: "I’ve been here since 1998 and nothing like this has ever happened, we’ve been open 24 hours a day since then and never seen anything this bad.

Nearby residents told News Shopper there were a group of "at least 100" young people in the area.

Joanna Connkey, 46, from Princes Plain, said: "It’s very frightening happening close to home. I thought it was a very safe area, it’s very scary. I’m shocked.

"I heard the music from the party and young people shouting."

Neighbour Lynne Mansell, 59, added: "It’s quite shocking but I’m hoping it’s an isolated incident."

Two black hatchback vehicles are thought to have been involved, one of which may be a Volkswagen Golf.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the attacks, which have seen three people arrested and bailed.
