Residents had to be evacuated after reports of a Second World War bomb being found in Thamesmead.
A number of residential addresses were evacuated in Galsworthy Close after Thames Water workers made the discovery.
Police were called at 1:34pm today (June 9) to reports of an unexploded device and a cordon was put in place around the site.
The device has now been safely removed.
