Five illegal workers have been detained by immigration officers in Lewisham.
Six men, from Pakistan, India and Afghanistan, were arrested for working illegally at Shaba Hair and Cosmetics in Lewisham High Street yesterday (May 27).
Home Office Immigration Enforcement officers acting on intelligence questioned staff at the premises at around 12:15pm in relation to their immigration status.
One of the men has been granted temporary release while an outstanding application to the Home Office is considered.

Immigration Enforcement Team assistant director Lionel Chalke said: "These arrests send a clear message to those who believe they can abuse the UK's immigration laws.
"We will find you, and you will face arrest and removal from the country.
"Employers should also be aware they have a duty to check their staff have permission to work in the UK.
"We are happy to work with businesses who play by the rules, but those who do not can expect enforcement visits and financial penalties."
Shaba Hair & Cosmetics face a fine of £20,000 per illegal worker unless evidence is provided showing legally required pre-employment checks were carried out, such as seeing a Home Office document or passport.
They could face a total penalty of £120,000.
