A pop-up market that sells locally-grown food directly from farmers to people in Ladywell has won an award dubbed the 'Oscars of the Food World'.
The Food Assembly won Best British Food Initiative at the BBC Food and Farming Awards in Bristol.
With more than 300 members, Ladywell Food Assembly lets customers order online and pick up their produce at a weekly pop-up market. All of the food comes from with 50 miles.
Food obsessed host of the Ladywell Assembly Moira Tait said: “I am so proud and delighted that The Food Assembly has won the Best British Food Initiative.
“Not only has it brought a new access to local food to our family, friends and community, but it's also helping farmers and foodmakers get paid what they deserve for their work.”
