A Bexleyheath teenager "who knew education wasn't for her" has secured a full-time job as part of a youth employment scheme.

Eleanor Brommett, 17, from Marten Avenue, left school with nine GCSEs but dropped out of college after just one month despite a change in the law meaning she must stay in education or training until 18.

Miss Brommett was referred to Sidcup-based MiddletonMurray by a friend and placed on a six-week business and administration training course.

She said: "I knew education wasn’t for me but I wasn’t made aware of the options available to me.

"I dropped out of college after one month, my studies simply weren’t taking me in the direction that I wanted to go.

"I had always known that admin was what I wanted to do, but I didn’t have the correct skills to get a job in that area."
