A dramatic eviction unfolded in Belvedere as up to 14 tenants were kicked out of their home while at work.

Belongings were removed from the Morvale Close property on Thursday (April 23).

Neighbour Martin Pridle, 50, witnessed seven stacks of double bunk beds, suggesting 14 people live in the three-bedroom house, being left on the street.

He said the pile of possessions was "nine foot tall".

Mr Pridle said: "This could be 14 people now with nowhere to stay. It’s quite sad.

"I feel sorry for the guys that are going to come home. It’s just not nice.

"I would be angry even if I was subletting.

"They are going to come home at four or five o’clock and see it."

Mr Pridle said a large group of men moved into the house about three weeks ago, bringing beds with them, and spent a whole day on Sunday moving into the house.

He added: "They were as quiet as anything. They never gave any grief.

"They would get up and go to work every day.

"Now they have got nowhere to go. I feel sorry for them."

A Met Police spokesman said: "They were called at 12.53pm to reports of a civil dispute.

"The police role is to stand by and prevent a breach of the peace.

"No offences were disclosed."
