A Lewisham Ukip parliamentary candidate has been caught on camera launching a racist rant at Muslims.

Ukip MP candidate for Lewisham East, Anne-Marie Waters, was caught on camera by an undercover journalist spouting anti-Islamic hate.

Ms Waters, along with fellow Ukip member Magnus Nielsen, were both guest speakers at a Mothers Against Radical Islam and Sharia event on Saturday (April 11) .

When asked what she would do if she was elected, Ms Waters told the Mirror reporter: "For a start the immigration will have to stop, the immigration from Islamic countries has to stop entirely, that is just the way it is.

"A lot of people need to be deported. Many mosques need to be closed down. It really has to get tough."

Ukip have previously claimed that the party is not anti-immigration and it is not a party of racists.

Ms Waters is the founder of Sharia Watch UK, which has been criticised for verbally attacking Islam.

A Greenwich and Lewisham Ukip spokesman said: "Anne-Marie Waters is a well known campaigner for women's rights.

"She campaigns against inequality for women in British society as a whole and among parts of the Islamic community."
