A Sydenham woman has been arrested for dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision after a moped rider was left seriously injured in East Dulwich.
Police were called to reports of a collision between a car and a moped March 29 around 6:35am on East Dulwich Road near the junction with Worlingham Road.
The moped rider was taken to hospital suffering leg injuries where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the car, a black Renault Clio, did not stop at the scene.
The Clio was later found abandoned on Lapse Wood Walk in Forest Hill having sustained significant front end damage.
Later that day, a 20 year-old woman was arrested at an address in Sydenham on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
She was taken into custody at a south London police station where she remains.
Detective Sergeant Matt Austin from The South East Serious Collision Investigative Unit said: "We are appealing for any witnesses to, or anyone with any information about, the collision to contact us.
"We are also keen to hear from anyone who would have seen a significantly damaged car being abandoned on Lapse Wood Walk."
