An army bomb disposal unit was called to a charity shop in Swanscombe after an unexploded shell was found, reportedly in a donation.
The incident happened at around 2.20pm this afternoon (March 20) in EllenorLions Hospices Shop in High Street, Swanscombe.
Officers attended the scene and, upon instruction from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, the shop was evacuated.
Members of the EOD arrived and confirmed it was an anti-tank shell.
No one was hurt and the cordon was stood down by 4.10pm.
