Dartford schoolboy Charlie Jones is riding high four months after leaving the X-Factor.

The 15-year-old, a Wilmington Grammar pupil, is performing to packed out venues as part of a nation-wide tour.

He first graced the pages of the News Shopper in April last year after his musical tribute to Justin Bieber got 300,000 YouTube views in just two weeks.

Charlie, who lives in Welling, auditioned for the X Factor a few months later, and ended up joining eight other teenage boys to form band Stereo Kicks.

The group made it to week eight of the ITV talent show but failed to make the semi finals.

Meanwhile his mum has revealed to News Shopper he is "loving every minute of it".

Julie, 44, said: "He’s been doing the X Factor tour and going to lots of different places for that, he’s really enjoying it.

"He went back to school for a few weeks in December, he really enjoyed seeing his friends and teachers there and he might go back there for a few more weeks soon.

"Tomorrow he’ll appear at Wembley Stadium, I’ll be quite emotional as that’s how it all started.

"Stereo Kicks are having a headline tour later this year well.

"He’s doing really well with his tutoring as well, three hours each day."

Julie said her son is enjoying engaging with the fans who helped them get so far in the X Factor.

She said: "Charlie’s loving meeting the fans and thanking them for all the support.

"The fans have been making all these banners for the boys and there’s been loads of activity on social media."
