WASHING-up liquid was used to free a late-night reveller who got his hand stuck in a letter box.

Firefighters were called to rescue the youngster at 4.20am this morning in Widmore Road, Bromley.

The man had been joking around with his friend, who would not let him into the foyer of the block of flats.

He put his hand through the door's letter box and got stuck.

Two crews from Bromley and a fire rescue unit from Lewisham arrived at the scene.

Firefighters used washing up liquid to free the hand from the door.

A spokesman said: "Everyone does silly things when they have been out."

The man, thought to be around 19 years old, was not injured.
