A CENTRE has launched a campaign for cleaner, greener shopping.
Visitors to The Walnuts, High Street, Orpington, this Saturday will be given a free reusable fabric carrier bag if they agree to boycott plastic ones.
The initiative is an attempt to reduce the number of bags which end up in landfill sites and take more than 100 years to decompose.
Centre manager Mark Middleton said: "We want to make it as easy as possible for people to make a difference to the environment.
"I hope to see shoppers using and reusing these fabric bags throughout the year to reduce the number of plastic ones given out by shops."
