A SCHOOL was alive with the sound of music when audiences watched a musical.
The hall at Newstead Wood School for Girls was packed out for the three performances of The Sound of Music.
Pupils took the parts of actors, musicians, stage crew and stewards.
Head of drama Michael Stokes, who directed the show, said: "Audiences were not disappointed as they watched a highly entertaining performance by an animated and dynamic cast.
"Everyone worked collaboratively to ensure this demanding and compelling musical was highly successful."
He added: "Andrew Lloyd Webber lost out on a lot of bright young talent."
