Dartford Council has frozen council tax again for the sixth consecutive year.
At the annual budget meeting on Monday (Feb 23), Dartford Council leader Councillor Jeremy Kite said he did not want to put pressure on hardworking families.
Instead the council is accepting a grant from government, of around £59,000 – but will end up losing around £271,000 over the next five years by keeping council text the same.
Councillor Kite said at the budget meeting: “We have frozen tax for six years and it’s hard to think of a significant service that has been cut or reduced.
“We continue to collect residents’ bins every week, we deliver a great housing service and still find resources to invest in the arts, sports and community facilities that local families want."
