A GUIDE is available for green residents who want to install solar panels or wind turbines on their properties.
The handbook, produced by Bexley Council, lists the six conditions homeowners would have to fulfil to make planning permission for solar panels unnecessary.
In many cases they would be considered a permitted development, in which case only a certificate is needed.
However, planning consent would be needed for most wind turbines, and people living in flats will always need permission for panels and turbines.
Copies of the guidance are available from bexley.gov.uk/service/ planning/build.html
