A HOSPITALISED police officer injured while on her way to an emergency call is "making progress".

PC Nina Whitehead, 30, suffered a punctured lung, broken pelvis, broken leg, fractured shoulder and broken ribs.

She was in a patrol car with PC Chris Taylor, 29, when it was in collision with a white van at 7.40am at the junction of Heathfield Road and Westerham Road, Keston, on January 18.

A Bromley police spokesman said: "She continues to make progress but it will be a long road to recovery."

Both PC Taylor and the van driver were discharged from the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough Common, shortly after the accident.

The officers were driving to an accident in Prince Imperial Road, Chislehurst.
