IN ITS recent print competition, the society was treated to an extremely competent, informative and witty commentary by judge Roger Maile.
He even apologised to two advanced class members for awarding them unusually low marks.
Leslie Rees' entry, entitled Louvre Bridge Salford, was an internal shot of the bridge. This created an interesting pattern formed by the struts and wires.
Three Glasses by Fred Barr was a still life picture of glasses set against a blue background creating a variety of blue dues.
The judge was so impressed, he forgave Fred for arriving late.
Alan Sander's entry, called Dunnock, was an excellent close-up study of this bird. Various brown shades of the body contrasted nicely with the blue and greys of the head.
The society meets every Wednesday at Clockhouse Methodist Church hall. For information about the group and membership, call Peter Bedwell on 0208 8462 7306.
