THE DECEMBER meeting of the guild was the held at the Christmas party.
Representatives from Federation and other guilds were invited and there was also a Christmas decoration competition.
On a cold, winter afternoon in January, it was a pleasure to be reminded spring is on its way.
Channel Islands Herme, Guernsey and Jersey were visited and photographed by Daphne Butler, and the slides she made accompanied her talk.
Large clumps of wild flowers, including orchids, fuchsia, thrift and marigolds, were out in abundance.
There were birds, butterflies and caterpillars, and visits to cultivated gardens revealed large areas of herbaceous borders.
A quiz afternoon will take place at the guild's next meeting on February 27.
