RESIDENTS are being asked for their views on regeneration plans for a town centre which include a shopping centre and 82 homes.

Wilson Bowden Developments and Powis Street Estates are planning the shopping centre at the west end of Powis Street and Hare Street, Woolwich.

A consultation on the proposals to revitalise the area, know as Woolwich Triangle, was launched on January 29.

The area would include 300,000sq ft of shops, homes and garden space.

People are being encouraged to give their views by visiting woolwichtriangle.co.uk or by attending a public exhibition on Friday from 2pm to 8pm and Saturday from 10am to 2pm.

This is being held at the Old Bank building, Wellington Street, Woolwich.

Wilson Bowden Developments planning director Tim Webb said: "This is a great opportunity for Woolwich.

"Our proposals for the Triangle will transform an underused part of the town that desperately needs redevelopment."
