THE mayor of Greenwich joined pupils to mark National Holocaust Memorial Day.
Pupils from Heronsgate Primary School, Whinchat Road, Thamesmead, and mayor Councillor Harry Singh, held a minute's silence to remember the victims of genocide.
Other schools across the borough, such as Plumstead Manor, Old Mill Road, Plumstead, held discussions and events on January 26, to reflect on past and present atrocities.
Cllr Singh said: "It's fitting schools mark this day, as children represent our future.
"Holocaust Memorial Day remembers everyone who has suffered genocide, torture and murder in both distant and recent conflicts."
