A RAPIST who attacked a 15-year-old babysitter has failed in his bid to get his conviction overturned.
Grant McNair, from Erith, was jailed in 2005 for the rape of the babysitter at his Orpington home in 1989.
McNair, now aged 39, also committed gross indecency with the teenager.
He subjected the girl to a two-hour ordeal in the bathroom in the early hours of the morning, after locking the door.
McNair, who changed his name from Grant Newman, was also convicted of indecently assaulting a 13-year-old girl while she was asleep in 1997.
He was sentenced at the Inner London Crown Court in June 2005, to nine years in jail - seven years for the rape and two years for the gross indecency.
But at the Appeal Court in London last Friday, he succeeded in getting his rape sentence cut to five years.
