THE latest member to give a presentation on My Tale on Photography was Alan Eperon.

As well as showing a fascinating selection of prints, he enlightened the evening with a series of anecdotes.

Alan took up photography in January 1986 after trips to Stockholm and Toronto.

He was fascinated by the different ways in which the cities reacted to snowy conditions.

In Toronto the streets were meticulously cleared of snow whereas in Stockholm the snow was allowed to settle and be compacted by the traffic.

Several prints were shown of the Pere lachaise cemetery in Paris where Oscar Wilde is buried.

This cemetery is partly enclosed by the Martyrs Wall against which many members of the Paris Commune were shot in 1871.

In a competition, Alan submitted a print of a field of poppies entitled Field of Honour.

The judge pointed out the flowers in question were not Honour but Poppies.
