MEMBERS were fortunate at our January meeting when Mrs Liz Anderson gave a fascinating talk on the work of the Friends of Kelsey Park Beckenham.

This was at very short notice due to the non-appearance of the advertised speaker.

The park is one of the loveliest in the south east and the Friends are very involved in the conservation and development of its birds, waterfowl and wildlife.

They have planted hundreds of spring bulbs and helped with the design and replanting of the lovely herbaceous border.

The information centre in the park is open at weekends and offers details of the extensive programme of walks.

New members and visitors are very welcome to join the society.

Call the membership secretary on 020 8650 2221 for details.
