Stuart Kerner’s wife Katharine is back at work at Wyborne Primary School in New Eltham, it has been confirmed.

She resumed her role as acting head teacher at the Footscray Road school this morning after an absence of seven working days.

The spouse of the convicted sex offender and former Bexleyheath Academy vice-principal had been away on leave since January 12.

On January 14 her husband was handed an 18 month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, over his affair with a teenage pupil at the Bexleyheath secondary school.

News Shopper has previously reported that parents were pulling their children out of Wyborne Primary amid concerns over Mrs Kerner’s suitability to work with children.

Two mothers of pupils at the school contacted News Shopper to say Mrs Kerner was back.

This was later confirmed by Greenwich Council.
