SCHOOLCHILDREN learned silence can be golden when they raised nearly £300 by keeping quiet for 20 minutes.
Year One pupils from Cobham Hall, Cobham, took part in The Big Hush, an annual sponsored silence to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The group of 20 students successfully stayed silent and beat their fundraising target of £200.
Lower school senior tutor Katy Lee said: "I would like to say a very big thank you to all the staff, friends and families who generously supported the girls."
