SCOUTS are getting ready to start a year of centenary celebrations.
Woolwich's 14 scouting groups have come together to mark the landmark with a range of events.
The festivities will be kicked off with an exhibition at the Citizens' Gallery in Powis Street.
Between February 13 and February 17, visitors will be able to view a collection of badges, old camping equipment, including stoves and canoes, and historic photographs dating back to 1907.
One black and white picture shows Scout founder Robert Baden Powell presenting some Woolwich members with a plaque in 1917.
Former Scout commissioner in Woolwich, Robert Gammon, 75, said: "There are lots of people out there who have been in the Scouts in Woolwich and we would like them to share in the memories and celebrations with us."
Other commemorative events are arranged to take place throughout the year, including a camping trip to Addington in May and a special thanksgiving service in April.
