A DEVELOPER has lodged a planning application to replace the Crayford Centre which helps people with mental health problems.
The proposals, to replace the buildings at 4 to 8 London Road, Crayford, with two buildings of five and six storeys, have been made by Portcullis Land and Property.
The centre is run by Oxleas NHS Trust and provides flexible services including creative workshops, IT training and courses to help people get back into work.
It is also home to the Centrepieces art group and runs a drop-in centre, but the building is old.
The developer is proposing to provide a replacement day centre with 43 flats above.
These would consist of 15 one-bedroom, 15 two-bedroom and 13 three-bedroom homes.
Oxleas told News Shopper it had been approached by the company to see if it was interested in incorporating the Crayford Centre into the new building.
The homes above would be private accommodation.
The site is owned by Bexley Council.
