A pair of young actors from Sidcup and Eltham are celebrating winning lead roles in two professional touring stage productions.

Samuel Peterson and Zach Loizou will be criss-crossing the UK to perform in cities including, Glasgow, Blackpool and Newcastle.

Zach, aged 13, who attends Hurst Secondary School in Sidcup, successfully auditioned for the role of Fredriech in the UK tour of The Sound of Music starring the winner of the Over the Rainbow TV talent show winner Danielle Hope.

Ten-year-old Sam, a pupil at Roper Street Primary school in Eltham, was chosen from hundreds of hopefuls to play the lead role in the national tour of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.

The pair both take classes at the All the Arts Theatre School.

Principal Lucy Morgans said: "To say that we are proud would be an understatement.

"So many boys auditioned for these roles and that two of our boys won the parts speaks volumes about how talented they are.

"They have both been attending classes for a long time and never miss a week.

"They are hard working and dedicated and truly deserve these opportunities."
