Budget hotel chain Premier Inn has launched plans for a 61 bedroom hotel in Orpington.
Hotel bosses will apply for planning permission before Christmas to renovate Walnuts House, part of the Walnuts Shopping Centre in High Street.
Premier Inn owner Whitbread held a public consultation in October at Walnuts House to allow residents to view the plans.
Acquisitions manager for Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, John Rumsey said the Premier Inn would create 25 jobs.
He said: “The Premier Inn would play an important part in the regeneration of Orpington town centre and benefit the local economy - it would breathe new life into Walnuts House.”
Mr Rumsey said Whitbread were reviewing feedback from the public consultation before submitting a final planning application to Bromley Council before Christmas.
Construction would begin in mid-2015 with the hotel opening around a year later, if the planning application were approved.
