Wilmington Grammar schoolboy Charlie Jones made it through the first week of the live X-Factor finals with a blistering performance on Saturday evening (October 13).
The 14-year-old joined his seven Stereo Kicks bandmates to cover Katy Perry’s Roar.
Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh were both positive about the group's performance, with Cowell describing it as "very exciting".
Duo Blonde Electra and fellow boyband Overload Generation failed to make the grade and were eliminated from the competition.
Charlie posted on Twitter later that evening: "Love my boys we did so well!
"Proud to say I'm a part of stereo kicks."
His mum Julie, 44, from Welling, told News Shopper last week: "It’s been a whirlwind.
"We haven’t had any girls camped out our house just yet, we’re keeping our fingers crossed on that one.
