New lifts and a new footbridge have been opened at Bexleyheath, making the station fully accessible for everyone.
The £1m investment came from the Government’s Access for All scheme, which provides funding for accessibility improvements at stations across the country.
The project was delivered by Network Rail and its contractors on behalf of operator Southeastern.
Network Rail’s route managing director, Dave Ward, said: "The railway should be for everyone and projects like this help us get closer to achieving that aim. The new lifts and footbridge don’t just help people with mobility difficulties but anyone with suitcases or buggies.
David Statham, managing director for Southeastern said: "We’ve worked closely with our colleagues at Network Rail to make improvements at Bexleyheath station.
"The projects that we are delivering jointly to modernise stations are vital to ensure that members of our communities who rely on the railway to get around are able to use our services more easily. We’ll be investing more in these important projects over the next three years."
