Vibe could bear-ly believe its eyes as top secret footage of the new Paddington film was revealed last week.

The Peruvian expat won’t be gracing our cinema screens until next month but three scenes were presented by star Hugh Bonneville on October 1.

Paddington (voiced by Ben Whishaw) was shown getting into all kinds of scrapes – chasing a criminal down Portabello Road, dodging the evil clutches of taxidermist Millicent (Nicole Kidman) and bonding with Mr. Gruber (Jim Broadbent) over war-torn lands.

Another scene shows the marmalade lover getting aquainted with Mr Brown (Hugh Bonneville) at Paddington station as Mr Brown struggles with bear dialect.

Kidman gives a particularly chilling turn as a Natural History Museum worker with a penchant for furry dead things.

The voice of Paddington was originally given to Colin Firth but he dropped out last June after it was decided he was not right for the role.

Hugh explained the cast and crew were working round the clock to finish the film: “The finishing touches are being added in the studio as we speak.

“You may have noticed in one of those scenes, there was no sign of ketchup being squirted although there was sound – this is all being added in.

“At the heart of the film, it is about the sense of finding a home, and it being more than where your house is.”

Paddington will be released on November 28 and also stars Blackheath-raised Sally Hawkins and Sir Michael Gambon, who was brought up in Crayford.
