Bexleyheath's Danson Park has hosted a festival with a difference - aimed at offering advice to residents living with substance abuse.
The Bexley Recovery Walk took place on September 20 and saw those recovering from problems with drugs and alcohol and their families walk from the clock tower in Albion Road to Danson Park - where the festival took place.
Organised by registered therapist and counsellor, Pat Stocking, the event saw around 150 people take part to help raise awareness for the services provided to help combat substance abuse.
The walk was followed by a mini festival where revellers enjoyed live music and dance and were given the opportunity to pick up information on services such as Mind, Silver Linings and Alcoholics Anonymous to name but a few.
Mrs Stocking said: "It was a wonderful day.
"So many times I've heard that people have seen their GPs and they didn't know what to do with them and their families didn't know where to go - it just seemed really important to highlight these services.
"GPs can't be expected to know everything."
The event is now set to become an annual feature in Bexleyheath's calendar.
