Boris Johnson met pupils from a Sydenham school's breakfast club for a live radio broadcast
Mr Johnson met pupils from Haseltine School in Haseltine Road along with four other London schools.
The event was part of a charity campaign to stop young London pupils going to school without a good breakfast and to ensure that no child in the capital goes hungry.
It was hosted by Magic DJ Neil Fox with special guest the Mayor of London in a special outside broadcast live from City Hall.
Since a London-wide breakfast club scheme was started, 74 clubs have been set up across the capital but many more disadvantaged children need to be reached.
Mr Johnson said: "This is a massive enterprise to get kids to eat a proper breakfast before they go to school. We’ve certainly spread the word. Over 3,000 kids are being fed thanks to our breakfast clubs."
