A man has been jailed for six and a half years after police found a sawn-off shot gun in Penge.
Nathan Tate, 32, of Weighton Road, Penge, was sentenced at Croydon Crown Court after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm, possession of cocaine, crack and cannabis, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
On March 27, police officers raided an address in Weighton Road as part of an operation targeting criminals involved in drugs in south London.
As officers arrived Tate, who was serving two bans after being disqualified from driving on two separate occasions, drew up in a car.
He was detained and when police searched the address they found a sawn-off shotgun hidden and ammunition inside a bag in a bedroom wardrobe.
Cocaine, crack and cannabis were found in the kitchen, dining room and hall.
Detective Constable Ross McEwan, from the Met, said: "We will continue to target any individuals or groups that are involved in using drugs and firearms in London to disrupt their activity, seize their drugs and guns and put them before the courts."
