A 14-year-old boy from Orpington has joined thousands of A Level students’ celebrations today after securing an A* in mathematics.
Rohan Shiatis, from Park Avenue, even got 100 per cent in three of the subject modules.
The three-time junior British chess champion also sat two GCSEs early – in biology and physics – and is hoping for similar success when the results come out.
He told News Shopper: “I got my grade this morning and I was amazed. I’m so happy.
“I haven’t had my GCSE results back yet. Hopefully they’re the same.”
Rohan, who is home schooled, said he hopes to complete the rest of his GCSEs in the next two years before going back to school to complete his A Levels.
The academic, who is also a tennis coach and St John’s Ambulance cadet, added he might consider being a doctor – and hopes to study at Oxford or Cambridge.
His parents are unsurprisingly proud and mum Krishna, who supervises his studies, said: “We’re so proud of him, he’s done brilliantly.
“He obviously has the opportunity to do extra subjects now.
“Growing up he’s always had a passion for numbers and we noticed he was gifted early on. He sort of just teaches himself.”
