Work to transform Swanley Library and Information Centre into the new Swanley Gateway will begin on September 1.
The building in London Road will be closed for about six months, but services will still be available at nearby temporary locations while the work takes place.
The library service will be suspended for a week while facilities are transferred to the The Junction, Swanley Community and Youth Centre in St. Mary’s Road.
The Civic Centre, also in St. Mary’s Road, will provide Sevenoaks District Council services such as planning and benefit enquiries; along with town council services such as Passports, leisure bookings, payments of council invoices and hire of sports courts.
Swanley Gateway will include improved access to KCC services, including a refurbished library and direct access to Swanley Town Council, West Kent Housing Association, and Sevenoaks District Council services.
Other partners, such as Job Centre Plus, Citizens’ Advice Bureau and a range of voluntary organisations, will also be providing services at the Gateway.
