David Cameron's former communications chief Andy Coulson will appear in court in Scotland next month.
The Forest Hill 46-year-old from was today (July 8) served with an indictment to face proceedings at the High Court in Glasgow on August 6, the Crown Office confirmed.
Former News of the World editor Coulson was charged with perjury by police in 2012 after being questioned in connection to his evidence at the 2010 Tommy Sheridan trial.
He appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court in June 2013 where he made no plea or declaration and was granted bail.
A Crown Office spokesman said: "The Crown Office can confirm that an indictment was served on Andrew Coulson today, 7 July 2014 and that a Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for 6 August 2014 at the High Court at Glasgow."
