A motorcyclist from Sevenoaks has died after crashing his bike into the central reservation of the Kidbrooke A2.
Police and ambulances were called out at around 5.30pm yesterday (April 17) to the road's Kent-bound carriageway near the Kidbrooke interchange.
A Met Police spokesman said: "A motorcycle collided with the central reservation - it is not thought that it made contact with any other vehicles beforehand."
Paramedics, including London's Air Ambulance, arrived but the man, a 42-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not yet been formally identified but his next of kin have been informed.
The accident saw both carriageways of the A2 closed for several hours.
A Met spokesman said: "The Metropolitan Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is leading enquiries into the incident and detectives are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed what happened.
"Anyone with information is asked to call on 020 8285 1574 or 101. To remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
