A HOSPITAL radio station is giving youngsters the chance to take to the airwaves.
Phoebe Kibbey, presenter on Meridian Radio, is starting a competition for 11 to 16-year-olds.
All the youngsters have to do is come up with an interesting story about their area - the visit of a famous person, a historical tale or even a mystery that has not been solved.
Entry is £1 per person and the winner will get to visit the station at Queen Elizabeth Hospital to see how it all works, present their piece live on air and receive a goody bag.
Ms Kibbey said: "The idea behind this is to help kids get creative and think about their local community, it also aims to be a fun, enriching and confidence boosting experience and some kids may even discover a new passion or talent or an idea for a future career."
If your school wants to get involved contact studio@meridianradio.co.uk by February 21.
