RESPLENDENT in their red and white suits, hundreds of Santas dashed through the streets of Bromley as the town was filled with Christmas cheer for the lights switch on.
More than 750 people of all ages braved the wintry weather to take part in the 2km Bromley MyTime Active Santa Dash.
Finishing in the High Street it is fast becoming the town’s traditional start to the festive season, despite being only the second year it has taken place.
Then later on Sunday (December 1) a crowd of thousands braved the cold to converge on Market Square to see the Cinderella pantomime stars turn on the Christmas lights.
Portfolio holder for renewal and recreation Councillor Peter Morgan said: “The Santa dash, fireworks and festive entertainment in Bromley town centre provided a spectacular day for everyone who braved the cold to enjoy their town and have fun with their families.”
And Mytime Active’s sports and events manager Rob Drinkwater said: “I would like to thank everyone who helped make this event a success – our partners and of course, those that braved the weather to do the dash.
“It was wonderful to see so many families and friends getting active together.”
