THE family of "funny and beautiful" Beckenham woman Paula Newman, who died the day after allegedly falling from a car, have paid tribute.

The 20-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest at an address in Dunsfold Way, New Addington, last Tuesday (November 12) and died shortly after in Croydon University Hospital.

In a statement, her family said: "We want people to know what an amazing person Paula was.

"She was a funny and beautiful girl who we saw grow into a young woman.

"Paula was taken from us at just 20-years old and will be missed.

"She will remain in our thoughts forever and always."

Her death is being treated as suspicious and it is believed she fell from a black BMW 325 on November 11 between the hours of 8.45pm and 11.30pm somewhere in New Addington.

A post-mortem examination on November 13 gave the cause of her death as head injuries.

Detectives continue to appeal for information and witnesses.

Investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Diane Tudway said: "I now have information which leads me to believe that late on November 11 into the early hours of November 12, Paula was in the company of a man in Elmside, New Addington which is adjacent to a recreation ground.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and may have seen them or heard anything to contact the police.

"I am also very keen to hear from anyone who may have seen Paula getting into the Black BMW in Dunsfold Way, New Addington with a man on the evening on November 11.

"I am grateful to the local community for their help so far and I wish to reiterate that any witnesses who come forward will be treated with the utmost sensitivity."

Miss Newman's boyfriend, Kane Boyce, was arrested on November 12 and bailed until mid-January.
