CRAYFORD’S burst water main was repaired by engineers overnight but the full repair operation in the town centre is expected to take a week.
Crayford Road remains closed outside the town hall between Station Road and Stadium Way following the burst water main at 2am yesterday (April 30) morning.
Bexley Council says both the road and the pavement have been badly damaged and reinstatement work is starting this morning. (May 1)
Crayford library has, however, re-opened to the public this morning but bus diversions are in place.
As News Shopper reported yesterday, traders are fearing the worst.
