THE Downham Estate's only pub will be closed for six months following a licensing review.
At a meeting last night at Catford Town Hall, which was closed to the press and public, it was agreed to suspend the pub's licence for three months.
Enterprise Inns, which runs the boozer, offered a further three month suspension on top of that, it is understood. The pub's landlord has also been removed from his post.
The decision comes following a large-scale police raid on the pub last month which resulted in 20 arrests for offences including drug and firearm possession.
Downham Tavern was opened in 1930, the only pub on an estate with a population of around 29,000.
